NOX VAN HEEMSTATE
Expression x Sirius x Parcival
In 2019, we imported a young KWPN Gelders stallion. His registered name was ‘Nidion van Heemstate’, which we shortened to ‘Nox’. He was bred by Wemke Staatsen of ‘The Heemstate’ in the Netherlands, a family of many generations breeding with successful Gelders and Dressage lines. His dam is Dione van Heemstate by Sirius. She was National champion of the Gelders fillies. Unfortunately she got injured as a young horse so she has only been a broodmare. Her dam is the ster Keur eligible mare Wendie (Parcival x Zichem). We kept him as a stallion prospect for his type and bloodlines, with Expression as his sire, who is a son of the well known and much sought after dressage producer Vivaldi.
Nox grew out to a powerful 16.2hh stallion. Due to an accident, we couldn't present him for licensing in his first years under saddle. We did breed him to several of our mares. He also got breedings to outside mares, of which the Arabian mares deserve a special mention for crossing so beautifully with him. Our own Polish Arabian mare produced a lovely foal by Nox too: Up In Flames CCE. On all his foals, we have seen good size, power, balance and posture in movement with great correct feet and legs.

Nox was presented to the KWPN- NA for licensing in 2024, but unfortunately he didn't pass his IBOP Test. We decided to geld him and grant him a more social life as a gelding in a herd environment with other horses. We have Up in Flames CCE and Uptown Funk CCE still available by Nox and we have one more foal coming by him in 2025 out of our Trakehner mare Finery. We are training Nox under saddle again and he will be up for sale.
